Chance Meeting On A Dissecting Table Of A Sewing Machine And An Umbrella / NURSE WITH WOUND

I think Nurse With Wound (NWW) displays particularly refined talent, even within the realm of noise.
I’m convinced that many noise musicians are incredibly talented, but I feel that NWW is particularly positioned closer to art.
Perhaps NWW operates on a different level, or perhaps the polar opposite, to the idea of art, but there’s something about their sound, titles, track names, and album covers that suggests they’re all based on a carefully thought-out concept.
I don’t understand NWW well enough to explain what that is, but after listening to their vast body of work, I’ve come to believe this.
NWW develops their music using such a wide variety of sounds that it could be called a sonic collage.
Listening to NWW’s work really makes me think about how sound is created, a common theme in noise music.
Also, despite being active for many years, their existence hasn’t been very well known, which gives them a very mysterious impression, and I think that this is what has attracted even more interest.
Recently, interviews and performance videos have been uploaded to YouTube, and a book about NWW has also been published, so I get the impression that their image is becoming clearer.
NWW often works with CURRENT93, and in the early days, they sometimes released CURRENT93 albums on NWW’s United Dairies label.
They also released albums in collaboration with CURRENT93 and sometimes participated in CURRENT93’s live shows.
As a result, they sometimes produced drone sound similar to CURRENT93’s early works, but this album not only makes use of drone sound, but also makes extensive use of NWW’s distinctive sonic collages.
Even listening to this album today, it sounds unique, and I think it must have been quite groundbreaking at the time.
Since this album, they have continued to produce works energetically, changing their pattern, and recently reconstructed TNB’s first album, so it’s hard to take your eyes off their activities.
