:Leichenlinie / GENOCIDE ORGAN

I didn’t become aware of Genocide Organ (OG) from the very beginning.
When this album came out in 1989, I hadn’t heard of OG, and I think I first learned of them through a review in “Electronic Noise."
I also didn’t know about them when I used to go to NED’S, the famous noise record store in Shinjuku (back when it was still called JNR).
I first heard of them when I had the chance to go to a record store run by Staalplaat, the famous Amsterdam noise label, and there I picked up “:The Truth Will Make You Free:."
I think they’re classified as power electronics, but they’re a noise band with a stylized beauty, similar to bands on the European label COLD MEAT INDUSTRY, and, although their style is different, I felt they had an aesthetic reminiscent of LAIBACH.
While GO has released many excellent albums through his own label, TESCO ORGANISATION, he is also very active in his own right, visiting Japan in 2003 and 2007 for live performances.
Those performances are also included on DVD.
They are also scheduled to visit Japan again in 2024, much to the delight of Japanese noise fans.
This is OG’s first album, and it is highly polished, setting them apart from other noise artists.
Despite featuring power electronics, there is not much violence, and I felt a madness backed by stylized beauty.
Many of their album covers are reminiscent of war, and this album, too, translates to “Row of Corpses," making the content shocking, including the cover.
I missed both of their Japanese live shows and have only been able to experience them through video, so I hope they will come to Japan and perform live again.
