Knees & Bones / CONTROLLED BLEEDING

I would say this album is a representative work of Control Breeding (CB).
Early CB had a rough sound, featuring harsh noise and power electronics, as well as a musique concrete-inspired sound reminiscent of dark ambient, all mixing various elements of early ’80s noise music.
In their earliest days, they released cassette albums on RAMLEH’s Broken Flag and MERZBOW’s ZSF Productions, followed by “Body Samples" and then this album.
However, it was difficult to obtain at the time, and I personally wasn’t able to listen to this album until it was released on CD in the ’90s.

The first time I heard CB’s music was on “Between Tides."
Compared to their earlier works, the album itself seems more polished, but it has a dark ambient feel.
The sound of this album and their first cassette, “Distress Signals," is rougher, but that’s actually a good thing.
As for noise music, the primordial power of noise can be felt in their work prior to this album.

For this reason, it wasn’t until the ’90s that I really began to appreciate CB, so I feel like I discovered it quite late compared to other noise works.

I still listen to this album from time to time, and even now, I think it’s an interesting piece because it incorporates various noise elements.

You can now listen to his music, including his early works, on Spotify and YouTube.
I’m very grateful that I can now listen to it so easily.
